We have an array of pistol training classes for all levels of skills. Chose one an get started! We are very proud of the fact that our clientele is almost exclusively female, all are welcome! We also offer other courses such as the Familiarization course for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Church Security Team Qualifications. Texas LTC Course

The License to Carry (LTC) class, requires the student to have the pre-existing ability to operate and shoot a handgun in a safe and proficient manner. We will NOT teach you how to shoot. If you do not feel confident in your ability to successfully shoot, PLEASE consider taking another course or schedule a private lesson BEFORE taking the LTC class.

The LTC curriculum covers state laws and regulations related to carrying a handgun – both concealed AS WELL as open carry. The course will also cover Federal laws and prohibitions related to carrying a firearm in the State of Texas. Non-Violent Dispute Resolution, as well as Safe Storage and handgun retention are key elements as well.

You will be required to demonstrate your shooting proficiency through the “standard” DPS LTC qualification course of fire, and pass a written exam.

This is an 7-8 hour one-day course includes 4-6 hours of classroom instruction; range instruction, as well as time for testing and proficiency demonstration.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Your firearm
50 rounds of ammunition (more definitely recommended)
Eye Protection
Ear Protection.

NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

This is the Instructor-Led Class for those who wish to either hone their skills, or as a new shooter, how to be more effective. This 8 hour class will teach you the fundamentals of shooting, care and maintenance of your pistol, ammunition storage and selection, as well as range qualification. You must also pass a written exam.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Your firearm
100 rounds of ammunition (200 for instructor candidates)
Eye Protection
Ear Protection.

NRA First Steps Orientation

The NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation course is the beginners course of : Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes of four or fewer students.

This course is at least three (3) hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type (Revolver or Semi-Automatic). Specify which in your request

Students will learn the: NRA's rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; and cleaning the pistol.

50 rounds of ammunition

Ear Protection.

NRA New Shooter Gun Safety Seminar

This is a non-shooting gun safety seminar, great for those who are new shooters, anticipating getting into shooting sports, or simply needing a safety refresher. The NRA New Shooter Seminar exposes new gun owners to the fundamentals of firearm safety. This 45-60 minute seminar is a great introduction to the important safety aspects of owning a firearm. Safe storage etc.

5/ WOMEN'S ONLY PISTOL CLINIC

This is a women's only pistol clinic. Great for those who are new shooters, or those who want formal training. This is an all day event of shooting, lunch and vendors. Sponsored by the NRA , it covers shooting skills, storage, ammunition selection and safety fundamentals.

CLASS SESSIONS: Only held annually. For 2025 we have yet to set this. Return to look for a date in the spring

YOU MUST HAVE: A pistol, 50 rds of ammunition; plus eye and ear protection
